 Uganda-NRM Boston Gala - 2009: Economic, Trade and Investment Event. September 25th - 26th 2009
NRM Boston in conjunction with NRM USA National Executive is organizing Uganda-NRM Boston Gala 2009 with a theme "Uganda Today and Tomorrow": The Boston Gala follows the Washington D.C Gala, which took place in May of 2008 in Maryland. The Boston Gala is the NRM/USA continued effort to bring together potential American, Uganda-American investors, government of Uganda policymakers and businessmen, for the purpose of transferring investments into Uganda.
Boston is home to the largest Ugandan population in the USA, with very high spirit of entrepreneurship, and it also stands as a center of science and technology with many institutions of higher learning. Hence, these important factors make Boston an attractive place to host a large economic investment forum. The Gala aims to create an informative platform, where Ugandan policymakers will highlight the values of the National Resistance Movement on issues of general investment and other opportunities to Investors and Ugandan Americans in Boston. The Gala promises total intellectual experience for attendees and aural pleasures with great sound and beats from Uganda, the Pearl of Africa.
Among the guests will be USA investors who wish to venture into various businesses in Uganda. Some will have the opportunity to present their products and services to the audience. The Keynote Speaker will be His Excellency The President of The Republic of Uganda and Chairman of National Resistance Movement, Yoweri Kaguta Museveni. Among other invited guests from Uganda include:
Hon Kahinda Otafire, Minister of Tourism, Trade and Industry;
Dr. Maggie Kigozi, Executive Director of Uganda Investment Authority;
Dr. Ruhakana Rugunda, Ugandan Permanent Representative, UN Security Council;
Hon Sekandi, Speaker of Parliament;
Cabinet Ministers and Members of Parliament (to be announced later)
Officials from the Uganda Revenue Authority;
Prominent Businessmen and women;
H.E Prof Perezi Kamunanwire,Ugandan Ambassador to the United States;
The Gala is intended to bring in friends, sympathizers, supporters, and all those who are interested in knowing about Uganda and NRM's goals and objectives. The Boston Gala organizing committee is putting in place a program that affords an exchange of ideas and networking for all participants. The investors will be exposed to the conducive investment climate and more opportunities in Uganda. Policymakers will inform participants about political, social and economic conditions, and how they affect business.
We shall close the evening with a Black -Tie/African Tradition Gown Dinner, and a 5-Course Dinner, with a lot of performances and dance.
