CONTINUE THE CHANGE - RE-ELECT LT FRANK MUSISI FOR UNAA PRESIDENT 2009-11 lt._frank_musisi_2009.png

Dear fellow Ugandans:

It gives me great pleasure once again to announce my CANDIDACY for RE-ELECTION as the UNAA PRESIDENT for the year 2009-11 in Chicago, Illinois during the upcoming 21st Annual Convention.

I will continue with my message of "Change", UNAA's "Independence", "Accountability" and "Transparency"- "Moving UNAA beyond Conventions". I will stand up against any outside interference and protect the sovereignty of the organization and its membership.

Over the last two years UNAA has focused on: Organizational process of our annual conventions, Establishment of UNAA Secretariat-Boston Headquarters, Immigration Advocacy; De-Politicize UNAA, Northern Uganda Conflict, Education and empowering of the UNAA local chapters. We are also working with cultural organizations like Ttabamiruka, Ggwanga Mujje, Basoga Twegaite and others to harmonize our general membership.

"Unity, Fresh Solutions, Competent Leadership and a Clear Direction."

Dear Friends,

Please allow me to begin by wishing you all a happy and prosperous New Year.  As with so many other people around the world, to me 2008 was a year best left behind with fresh hopes and aspirations for 2009.

This year is also important in the constitutional life of our largest Ugandan community organization - the Ugandan North American Association.  Once again we shall all convene at the organization's annual convention (being held this year in Chicago) and elect a new Executive Board

President Museveni not to Officiate at UNAA Convention Orlando, Florida PDF Print E-mail
Written by Lt. Frank Musisi
Tuesday, 19 August 2008

lt.frank_musisi.jpgGreetings to you all from Southwest Asia.

The purpose of this message is to dispute a message entitled, "President Museveni Set for UNAA Conference in Florida" which appeared in Buganda Post dated August 15, 2008. The message was circulated to many groups and individuals in and out of Uganda. See www.bugandapost.com/ main/archives/ 67 This misinformation including the rest of its contents is designed to imply that His Excellency President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni would be attending the upcoming 20th Annual Convention in Orlando, Florida. The message is FALSE, President Museveni will NOT attend the UNAA Convention in Florida although we officially extended an invitation to His Excellency back in June. He delegated the following government officials to represent him; Hon. Syda Bdumba, Minister for Gender, Labour & Social Affairs, accompanied by Hon. James Kinobe, Minister of State for Youth and Mr. Moses Byaruhanga the Special Presidential Assistant/ Mobilization.

However, we invited a balanced spectrum of other leaders, humanitarians and personalities from in and out of Uganda who will be attending our 20th Annual UNAA Convention that will take place from Friday, 29th August thru 31st August 2008 at Orlando World Center Marriott Hotel, Florida.

A SPECIAL MESSAGE AS WE DESCEND ON ORLANDO PDF Print E-mail
Written by Lt. Frank Musisi
Friday, 18 July 2008

marriott_main4.jpgDear UNAA Members and friends of Uganda:

Greetings from South West Asia to you all.

As I prepare myself to fly out of the war zone to go and preside over the 20th Annual Convention of the Ugandan North American Association, UNAA, it gives me pleasure to welcome you to Orlando. As an African Immigrant in the United States, I am beaming with pride because after twenty years of UNAA, we are progressively making an impact.

This year's convention is different in many respects: entertainment, career showcase, information being provided by international NGO agencies on how to access project funding, political forum, the Northern Uganda conflict discussion, the Uganda Land Bill, religious affairs, the youth program and social networking. And, UNAA is completely in charge of organizing the convention!
